Theatre of Science hosts
the Sleek Geeks in London
Australians Adam Spencer and
Karl Kruszelnicki (aka Dr Karl) were part of the inspiration
for Theatre of Science. I met them when I was at the
Sydney Book Festival in 2001, and thought they were
brilliant.
Together they are known as the Sleek Geeks,
and when I heard that they were coming to London I jumped
at the opportunity to arrange a few shows at the Soho
Theatre under the banner of Theatre of Science. They
were a huge success and it was great to see their unique
brand of scientific humour in Britain.
Here's how they describe their
current show:
Dr Karl and
Adam Spencer will drag you by the brain through their
fast-talking, roller-coaster ride of fabulous facts
and sensational stories as they coerce comedy into science
with sledge-hammer subtlety. Together, they'll tell
you about the Science of Nose-Picking, Belly Button
Lint, home accidents in the UK, and Punching Glass -
as well as What Really Happens when a Man and a Woman
love each other very much in a special way! You'll laugh
and learn, and you won't even notice.
You can find out more about the Sleek
Geeks at their website. And you can hear Dr Karl's
and Adam's radio shows on-line.
The Sleek Geek British tour was supported
by the Australian British Council.
