Gifted and Talented and Maths Masterclasses

Codes and ciphers are ideal for stimulating able pupils, extending the mathematical processes they have learnt in class and forcing them to employ deduction and logical reasoning.

With an understanding of the basic principles, talented children can extrapolate ideas and develop their own secret codes. They can challenge their friends to break their ciphers or have a go at breaking some of the most significant codes used throughout history. 

The Enigma project can offer workshops aimed specifically at groups of gifted and talented children, or we can present talks at Masterclasses to introduce the theories and ideas behind cryptography.
